I think its fair to say, four or two wheels, that when something is built, regardless of style or what it is by the owners fair hands, the finished product always seems something a little more special than the rest in the crowd.

Lewis's build is defiantly a diamond with a little more shine than the rest.

Enough of the drooling, here is his story.

Lewis purchased the bike, a original Honda Ruckus, in the Easter period of 2016. With Lewis' eye for potential and a very ballsy move he managed to steal the bike for a small slice of its true value, mainly due to it being in pieces, but never mind eh?

Not sure whether the motor was a runner he went to work on the liquid cooled 4 stroke, single cylinder as soon as he got it home. So in went fuel, a quick oil and filter change and finally a coolant change. With a strike of luck she was a runner! Another testimony to Japanese engineering in our eyes.

The original look of the Ruckus

Itching to get on the road at 16 years of age, Lewis started with small modifications, such as handle bars and over dress up parts!

Evidently Lewis caught the bug, because next up on his long list of modifications was a seat frame cut, meaning the seat sat much lower from its 29 inch high original position. Doing this meant he didn't have a seat that fitted, so he had some stainless still cuts made up and he fabricated himself a new one.

Constantly wanting to progress Lewis ordered an exhaust from Japan due to a shortage of Ruckus parts here in the U.K.

Not happy with the Ruckus' stance, Lewis then decided to import a new fork set from America, once fitted the front end sat a perfect 2.5 inches lower than the original forks. Again following the look he had previsioned at the start of the project he sprayed the bottom half of the frame black, simply because he could, oh and he didn't like the OEM silver look.

So now Lewis had an above average Ruckus, let alone an above average set of wheels compared to the other 16 year old's on their average twist and go's. What we like about this build story is Lewis's keen eye and determination to finish on the vision he had at the start, now we wont tell you what that is because that will ruin the read, wouldn't it?

Before we go on too the next part of the build, its best you understand that Lewis wasn't the average sixteen year old, Too us with a brief background given to us, its evident to see the King family are all combustion crazy, which is the best kind of crazy before, lets just get that straight. Growing up around his father tinkering with his own motorbikes and his brother building cars, we deem this is certainly where Lewis caught the bug.

The bug, that bug we talk about, the bug in which no project will ever be "perfect" too its owner/creator, is defiantly something we shall keep in mind for the final stages of the build.

So the Ruckus has been chopped, lowered and spruced up, what next?

Stretch it.

Next Lewis stretched it, buying and importing a kit from America and then fitting it. This meant the engine sat a further 12 inches back!!! Thus doing so he had to change the length of all cables, accelerator, brake etc.

This is what gave Lewis' custom that 'Low, long look, again he made another purchase to chase the 'finish', that purchase being a Chrome rear wheel, again from America. 12 inches in diameter and 8 inches wide, fitted with a white wall tyre. This being fitted meant the front wheel, in black, didn't quite meet Lewis' requirements, so he sprayed it silver and fitted that with a white wall tyre as well.

It's clear to see the effort Lewis has put into the project, we hope too see many more builds from him in the future.
