It would be fair to say that this weeks budget bike is at the apposite end of the performance scale to the last offering. That was a few weeks ago now, mr budget was snowed under with work and the mere hint of bikes sent mrs budget loopy.

Anyway this GSX-R600 is found in Fowlers motorcycle showroom in Gloucester, who have been purveyors of fine motorcycles for many years so this bike will definitely be worth the money if they are happy to sell it!

This iteration of gsxr's chassis was based around Suzuki's Grand Prix RGV500 so the gsxr is built for thrashing. Which is a good job really as the engine only starts to reward you with power high up the rev range. Virtually dead in low rpms wind up a srad gsxr600 and you'll be rewarded with a rush of screaming power. No where near as refined as the newer gsx-r600's but that's part of the SRAD's charm.

Things to note with this model are faulty cam chains, sticky chokes, cranks, gearboxes rusty fasteners and carb icing. But I'm sure this model has been well looked after. In the picture's it certainly looks great!

The handling of these models is fantastic if a bit of a handful, the rear end tending to skip about a bit. But its handling compliments that screaming engine and peaky power delivery. And a SRAD is surprisingly comfortable, only after a good while of riding will the old sportsbike achy wrists kick in.

We'd love to see pics of your SRAD's if you have one? If not.... why not buy this one!?
